My primary interest lies in 19th-century financial history and my thesis will examine the impact of the first global economic crisis in 1857 on trading networks that financed trade between Europe and Southeast Asia.
As part of my bachelor's and master’s studies at the Goethe University Frankfurt, I researched the development of private wealth management at a Frankfurt bank from 1875 to the First World War, as well as the significance of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange for German capital exports in the last third of the 19th century.
