I hold a BSc in Economics from the University of Cologne, where I studied liquidity creation in nineteenth-century US banking. I have also contributed to public finance research at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. At Oxford, my research interests lie in nineteenth-century international finance, particularly the effects of innovation in communication technology on financial integration.
